Jim organized Nature Coast Financial Services in 1997 under the direction of the Board of the Perkins State Bank and currently manages its operations for Drummond Community Bank. Jim is an Investment Adviser Representative and hold FINRA Series 7, 63 and 66 registrations. He also holds a Florida Life and Variable Annuity license.
Jim feels that an investment advisor should be able to help you create a financial plan, a personalized "roadmap" that can help you solve your financial problems and achieve your short and long-term financial goals. His commitment to his clients is to work one-on-one with them to understand their current financial situation and financial goals and to implement a financial plan that is customized to their needs.
Jim attended the University of Florida and graduated in 1986 with a degree in Food and Resource Economics. He also attended the Florida School of Banking sponsored by the Florida Bankers Association. He graduated from the FBA school in 1991 earning top honors in his class and was awarded the C. Arnold Matthews Honor Graduate Award.
Jim began his career with Perkins State Bank in 1987 as a Customer Service Representative. He was also the assistant Investment Portfolio Manager under the tutelage of Roy Perkins. During his tenure with the bank he has served as a Loan Officer, Comptroller, Chief Investment Portfolio Manager and in his current role as Financial Advisor serving the Drummond Community Bank area. Jim has been a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Roundtable since 2005. He is also a member of the Financial Services Institute and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Gainesville Chapter.
Out of the office, Jim is very involved in community activities. He currently serves as the coach for the Williston FFA Farm Business Management Team and as Treasurer of the Williston FFA Alumni. He is also very active in Morriston Baptist Church serving as a Deacon, adult Sunday School teacher and Treasurer. Jim was instrumental in overseeing two FRDAP Block Grants that were awarded to the City of Williston and the Williston Youth Athletic Association which allowed for the expansion and improvement of the WYAA’s Daily Scales Recreation Complex.
Jim resides in the Williston area , is married to Trina Ross Cason and they have three sons, Quincy, Hunter and Noah. Their family was named the Williston Family of the Year in 2010 by the Williston Woman’s Club.
